Please help us, pleads car guard

We have to survive. Some of us have children and families that depend on our income.

Petro Johnson, Modimolle, writes:

I am a car guard in Modimolle.

We were hit hard by the lockdown and had to stay at home with no income for more than five weeks. Then we were thankfully back at work, only to be told a week later that we are not allowed to work.

We have to survive. Some of us have children and families that depend on our income. We also have bills to pay and hardly any assistance is provided for people in our situation.

Domestic workers, gardeners and street vendors are all allowed to return back to work, but not the car guards. This is unfair, as we provide a protection service to our clients. We do an honest day’s work and we are in desperate need of our income.

Please, can somebody assist us in our urgent plea?
