Laerskool Warmbad het voornemende leerders vir 2024 met ope arms verwelkom. Die skool het op Donderdag 22 Junie hul jaarlikse opedag aangebied waar ouers en gr. R-leerders kennis kon maak met die onderwysers, klasopset, aktiwiteite en die pret wat daarmee gepaard gaan. Theron Brand, skoolhoof, sê die skool bied ’n gebalanseerde mengsel van akademie, kultuur en sport aan. Die leerderraad het oudergewoonte tydens die opedag gesorg vir pret en vermaak vir die gr. R’e.
The Lapalala Wilderness School (LWS) in Vaalwater hosted a public speaking competition which was attended by various schools in the province. A very dedicated young man, Daniel Nkhumane, a learner from the Sekhoba Secondary School in Mokopane, won first prize in the public speaking competition. His topic was rhino poaching. LWS sees him as an inspiration to others. Daniel had almost dropped out of school before, but through dedication, he now has a bright future ahead. LWS supports 39 schools, 370 educators, and over 10 000 learners through their Sustainable Schools Programme. LWS aims to inspire young people, such as Daniel, to become actively involved in wildlife conservation.
