Waterberg SAB League’s new season

The South African Football Association (Safa) in the Waterberg region held a fruitful pre-season meeting with all SAB League clubs from all the three streams, to chart a way forward ahead of the 2019/20 football season.

The South African Football Association (Safa) in the Waterberg region held a fruitful pre-season meeting with all SAB League clubs from all the three streams, to chart a way forward ahead of the 2019/20 football season.

During a meeting which was held last Saturday, 20 July, key dates for affiliation of teams, registration of players and kick-off were released so as to allow the clubs to prepare for the new
season.

Football clubs have between now and Monday, 26 August 2019 to affiliate with the Waterberg SAB Regional League.

The registration of players will be done between Thursday, 1 August and Friday 20 September this year.

The date for kick-off was set for Saturday, 31 August 2019.

Soccer followers are impatiently waiting for the new season to begin, after a vigorous 2018/19 season which ended in June this year.

The title for the Waterberg SAB Regional League was won by Modimolle Terrors FC (Stream A), after outshining PJ Stars FC (Stream B) and Benfica FC of Stream C.

As the Waterberg region’s champions, Modimolle Terrors FC advanced to the provincial play-offs.

The hearts of soccer followers in Modimolle and the Waterberg region were left broken after the home team failed to gain promotion into the ABC Motsepe League.
