The events management company visited Maope High School on Thursday 7 June.

During the activities learners had great fun competing in camping-related activities, such as competing groupings being assigned to build bridges with timber.

MAG founder, Tebogo ‘Dark Cloud’ Maluleka, said learners at local schools and elsewhere, needed to be involved in mural activities such as camping, so as to expose them to the amazing wonders of animal and plant life beyond the schoolyard.

Participants were broken into groups which competed against each other, in the form of unpacking puzzling questions, be they geographical, historical or otherwise.

There was also a fun run, whereby twosomes of participants had their ankles tied together with string, and then assigned to search for items such as sweets in the school garden.

Maluleke said the MAG initiative planned to take the camping activities to other schools in Bela-Bela.

He added that potential sponsors would be sought to help sustain what they believed was a good initiative.
