Forever Resort Bela-Bela and community unite

In a display of community collaboration, Forever Resort Bela-Bela has joined hands with Raeleng Secondary School, the local taxi rank, and Warmbaths Hospital to embark on transformative projects aimed at improving the aesthetics and overall appearance of the town.

Forever Resort, under the leadership of general manager Andriaan Harper, is spearheading these initiatives with a commitment to changing the face of Bela-Bela.

Forever Resort Bela-Bela has a longstanding commitment to community upliftment, consistently undertaking projects that contribute to the improvement of the town. According to Andriaan Harper the ethos of taking hands with local institutions and enhancing the visual appeal of the town is a crucial aspect of their community engagement.

The recent collaboration has seen the undertaking of three major projects, each addressing specific needs within the community. Realeng Secondary School, identified as a focal point, received attention to enhance its facilities. Warmbaths Hospital saw improvements through paintwork, while the taxi rank underwent significant steelwork, gate enhancements, and bathroom improvements. Harper emphasizes the importance of the taxi rank, considering it one of the first and lasting impressions for holidaymakers entering Bela-Bela.

Forever Resort is not only dedicated to physical improvements but also invests in the community’s future. Local school learners and educators are provided opportunities to spend the day at Forever Resort, creating special memories and fostering a positive relationship between the resort and the community. Harper stresses the importance of giving local children the opportunity to have fun and create lasting memories.

Harper urges the community to join hands with Forever Resort, identifying and participating in projects to change the town’s image, because Bela-Bela is a tourism hub.

Highlighting the significance of unity, the message is clear: when the community collaborates rather than merely voicing concerns, a difference can be made. Bela-Bela belongs to its residents, and by working together, they can collectively reach their goals and make lasting improvements to the town.

Joseph Mashishi, principal of Raeleng, extends gratitude to Forever Resort for their contributions and invites other businesses and individuals to lend support. He emphasizes the need for additional assistance to complete the ongoing projects, such as throwing the cement floor slab, before the closure of the school year in preparation for the 2024 academic year.

Mashishi highlights a pressing concern — the significant increase in learner enrolment, stressing the dire need for all toilet facilities for learners to be fully functional. This underscores the urgency for collective action to ensure that the educational infrastructure can adequately support the growing number of students.

Forever Resort Bela-Bela’s collaboration with local institutions and the community showcases the transformative power of unity. By focusing on both physical improvements and community engagement, the initiative sets an example for other businesses and individuals to actively participate in shaping the future of Bela-Bela.

The call to action resonates when a community unites for a common goal, positive change becomes not just a possibility but a reality.
