Community leaders raises concern over closed ICU at Warmbaths Hospital

Local community leaders visited Warmbaths Hospital on the 1st of December to determine out why the intensive care unit has closed, and what the hospital’s plans are to ensure the community will get the necessary treatment they deserve.

Die Pos newspaper was there to represent the press and to inform the public however, was asked to leave the meeting by the hospital’s communications manager, Mr. Moagi. According to Jee-Dee Cloete, it was stated that the hospital had planned to close the intensive care unit in 2010, but officially had been closed since 2020.

Discussions took place on why the hospital’s ICU unit had to close its doors.

The community has demanded a solution and wants the ICU reopened.

The hospital requested a formal meeting with community leaders on Wednesday, 6 December at 10:00 to discuss the case further.
