Bela-Bela singer and DJ Caroline Legwabe (aka Ma-Caro) is an aspirant artist with big dreams.

She told The BEAT in a recent interview that she started singing in 2006, but only released her debut album in 2010.

On the strength of her success due to her album’s release, she has been invited to perform at various events and public occasions.

Legwabe said she only realised the public’s support after the response of singing at a school event.

She is marketing her music on the street and wherever she performs.

Legwabe said she has already sold upwards of 100 copies.

“Mokoko wa mafurafura” (The fat rooster) is among her hit songs.

She has also been honoured with an invitation to perform at Bela-Bela’s Forever Resorts on the occasion of a whistle-stop by former President Jacob Zuma.

The afro-house singer became a resident DJ at various local taverns and she spins the discs in all music genres, depending on the event or audience.
