Bela-Bela municipal employees suspended

The Bela-Bela Local Municipality has confirmed rife rumours doing the rounds that a number of municipal officials had been suspended.

Municipal spokesperson, Kabelo Mosito, on Tuesday 18 February was guarded with details, but disclosed that three employees were on suspension since end of January.

He said officialdom anticipated the matter to be finalised within a matter of months.

“We cannot at this stage give reasons for their suspension, as the matter is currently under investigation and should be finalized within 90 days (as at end January),” he said.

Rumours about the suspension of the employees spread like the proverbial wildfire in the township in Bela-Bela and beyond.
