Grown up boys and their modified vehicles

Modimolle’s Obed Dlodlo made his debut at Bela-Bela’s Vdub Festival.

Modimolle’s Obed Dlodlo made his debut at Bela-Bela’s Vdub Festival.

He told The BEAT in an interview that since he learnt the art of modifying and customizing cars, he has never looked back.

Dlodlo, a panel-beater by trade, showcased his own creation of a modified VW UP, which had audiences eating out of his palm at the event hosted at Forever Resorts.

He said it all started as a boyhood hobby.

Dlodlo said he changed the outlook of the car by features such as tinted windows and lights, DVD screens and rims.

He said he spent about around R123 000 on added features like air-suspension, modified sound system, roof racks and redone interior decorations.

The car has been featured on a couple of music videos and was lined up for the SABC1 programme Kasi Culture.
