From Waterberg to Capricorn District launch

After its inaugural launch in the Waterberg District, the new District Development Model by the Presidency will now be launched in the Capricorn District.

After its inaugural launch in the Waterberg District, the new District Development Model by the Presidency will now be launched in the Capricorn District.

Dignitaries from all walks of life flocked to the Waterberg District as President Cyril Ramaphosa launched the model on 26 November 2019 at Ga-Shongoane Sports Grounds in Lephalale.

Limpopo Premier’s spokesman, Kenny Mathivha, reminded the public that the model aims to accelerate, align and integrate service delivery under a single development plan per district or metro.

Each district plan will ensure that national priorities such as economic growth and employment, improvements to living conditions, the fight against crime and corruption and better education outcomes are addressed.

The development approach ensures that planning and spending across the three spheres of government is integrated and aligned and that each district plan is developed with the interests and inputs of communities taken into
account upfront.

The intervention is also in line with the National Development Plan, which outlines the importance of building a capable state in partnership with the citizens of this country.

Premier Stanley Mathabatha will launch the Capricorn District Development Model at the Aganang Cluster Sport Grounds in Ceres Village in Polokwane on Friday 7 February.
