Three perish from Mookgophong accident

Three people lost their lives after a vehicle they were travelling in rolled several times on the N1 near Mookgophong.

The police said in a statement a case of culpable homicide was being investigated.

The deceased are a girl aged two, another aged six and a 50-year-old woman.

The Limpopo police said preliminary investigations indicate that the vehicle, which was moving from north to south, had a tyre puncture and the driver lost control.

“The vehicle veered into the opposite lane and started rolling,” the statement explained.

The two-year-old girl died instantly at the scene of the accident.

The mother of the two girls survived.

The 50-yer-old woman who also died at the scene was a passenger in the same vehicle.

The 6-year-old girl succumbed to her injuries whilst being treated inside an ambulance.
