Entrepreneurs impress with tourism video

Two young volunteers at the Waterberg Tourism Information Kiosk in Vaalwater showed off their skills and created a video showcasing the kiosk’s services — using only a cell phone and a very old 128 kb computer that kept crashing.

Freddy Lechelele and Nico Phire took the initiative to film the video and one of the guests were so impressed by it, that he arranged for a regular camera to be donated so that the two young men could continue with their work. Another member of Waterberg Tourism offered to help them with software once they have obtained a sufficient computer.

Waterberg Tourism aims to market Vaalwater as a tourist mecca and the kiosk is manned by volunteers to assist visitors to the area. It also aims to reduce unemployment among the youth and has already offered several courses. It is located at the Zeederberg Centre in town.

Lechelele and Phire’s video is available on the Facebook page Waterberg Tourism. “We used our own initiative to describe the business,” explains Lechelele, who spoke on camera while Phire did all the camera work.

The two recently attended a business start-up course that was arranged by Dr Izzy Warren-Smith.

In the meantime, they continue to make a valuable contribution to Waterberg Tourism as volunteers at the Information Kiosk.
