Bela-Bela CPA commended

The Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development Reform, Mcebisi Skwatsha, commended the Bela-Bela CPA (Communal Property Association) in Bonwaphala as a beacon of success.

The Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development Reform, Mcebisi Skwatsha, commended the Bela-Bela CPA (Communal Property Association) in Bonwaphala as a beacon of success.

This he said on the occasion of a visit to Bela-Bela on Thursday 21 November.

Skwatsha visited the CPA together with the Mahlohomolo Project to hand over farming implements to the farmers.

The visit formed part of the build-up activities towards the Waterberg Presidential District Development Model, Khawuleza, which was held at the Shongoane Sports Grounds in Lephalale on Tuesday 26 November.

The deputy minister hosted a stakeholder engagement session with farmers from across the Waterberg District and the Bela-Bela CPA beneficiaries on service delivery issues.

Activities included a visit to infrastructure sites at the project, followed by the main event held at the CPA.

Skwatsha said the CPA has become a role-model for other CPAs as they have done sterling work with their restitution project that benefits 2000 claimants.

He said the Bela-Bela CPA contributed in providing employment for local communities.

“Within this context, it is important to embrace the implementation of the new District Development Model. The days of working in silos are over,” he added.
