The Deputy Minister for Higher Education, Science and Technology, Buti Manamela, will be in the Waterberg next week, where he will be visiting a school in Rooiberg for a career exhibition.

The event will be held at Itireleng High School on Saturday 23 November.

The Department of Science and Innovation is hosting a career expo at the school, and Manamela will address the event expected to be attended by almost 1 500 people including learners and
college students.

Departmental spokesperson, Veronica Mohapeloa, said a number of exhibitions will be brought to the event to demonstrate the value of science and technology to society.

She said the event is meant to most importantly encourage learners to follow careers in maths, engineering, innovation and technology.

The school principal, Ally Pole, said the event will be held at the school.

He said preparatory meetings were ongoing, as a build-up for the event.
