A Nigerian national arrested for the alleged possession and dealing in drugs is expected to appear before the Bela-Bela Magistrate’s Court on Thursday 7 November.

A Nigerian national arrested for the alleged possession and dealing in drugs is expected to appear before the Bela-Bela Magistrate’s Court on Thursday 7 November.

The case was postponed when he made his first court appearance on Monday 28 October.

The suspect’s arrest and subsequent court appearance are a sequel to an incident in the township on the afternoon of Thursday 24 October.

Bela-Bela police spokesperson Sergeant Frans Maponya said the suspect was found at the local township’s Moloto Street, in possession of the CAT drug substance with a street value of R5 000.

Maponya said no bail was granted and the suspect was remanded in custody.

He said the suspect is in his 30s.

Maponya said the police believed the suspect’s clientele comprised of the upper middle classes arriving from the Bela-Bela suburbs for the expensive CAT drug.
