Waterberg for president’s district model launch

The Waterberg District Municipality will host the third launch of President Cyril Ramaphosa’s district model on Tuesday 26 November 2019.

The Waterberg District Municipality will host the third launch of President Cyril Ramaphosa’s district model on Tuesday 26 November 2019.

This follows the successful rural pilot launch of the District Development Model at the OR Tambo District Municipality in the Eastern Cape Province on 17 September.

The Cabinet-approved District Development Model is due for implementation in all of South Africa’s 44 municipal districts and eight metros.

Inspired by the President’s Khawuleza (hurry up) call to action, the District Development Model aims to accelerate, align and integrate service delivery under a single development plan.

Presidential spokesperson, Khusela Diko, said each district plan ensures that national priorities such as economic growth and employment are fast-tracked.

Diko also said that this development approach ensures that planning and spending across the three spheres of government is integrated and aligned.

Waterberg District Municipal spokesperson, Pat Malete, said the venue would be made public in due course.
