Pledges of support for women empowerment

Bela-Bela Mayor Jeremiah Ngobeni urged women gathered for a tourism event to do things for themselves.

He was the guest speaker at the Limpopo Women in Tourism event at the Bela-Bela Multipurpose Centre recently.

Female entrepreneurs in the tourism industry from across Limpopo were in attendance.

The event was celebrated under the theme “Tourism and jobs: A better future for all.”

“Gone are the days when women were oppressed and seen as fit to be uneducated or just housewives. You need to stand for yourself and fight your way up. No one will do it for you if you do not
do it yourselves,” he said.

Senior personnel from travel agencies, spas, resorts, guest houses, and other tourism and hospitality facilities were also present at the event.

Seharona Cultural Dance Group from Bela-Bela entertained the guests.
