Mr South Africa 2020 contestant Danny Doman recently delivered a memorable and inspirational talk which inspired the Class of 2019 at both Phagameng High School and Solomon Mahlangu High School.

He urged learners to stay focused ahead of the final examinations scheduled to begin towards the end of October.

Doman was invited as a motivational speaker, when the local Non-Profit Organisation, Paul Dave Foundation, visited the two schools to donate stationery for the matric learners, on Thursday 10
October.

Paul Dave Foundation is the brainchild of one of Modimolle’s optimistic young women, Karabo Mokgosi.

Doman, who was born in the Mpumalanga city of Emalahleni, is a businessman, radio personality, youth pastor and a deejay, who now resides in Modimolle.

The young businessman used the journey of his life as a story to motivate the learners, who will be finding themselves facing life as jobseekers or undergraduates next year after leaving high
school.

He told the learners that in order for one to achieve their dreams, they need to bear in mind that time is of the essence.

“At the age of 19 I started my own business which is still running successfully. At age 20 I went to America (United States of America) to further my knowledge, and at 21 I started studying. At 22 I got my degree in Christian Youth Ministry, and later during the same year I started my radio personality and deejay career. At 24 I started embarking on a new adventure which is Mr South Africa 2020,” he said.

Doman deliberately used this example to motivate and encourage the learners to set one big goal that they want to achieve in a space of one year or so.

Speaking to The Beat after delivering the motivational talk to learners at Solomon Mahlangu High School, Doman said he was intrigued by the vision statement of Mr South Africa which goes like
“Not every role model has a six pack. But every man can make a difference.”

This year’s event will be the first, since it has been taken over by former Mr South Africa second prince and Mr Photogenic, JP Roberts.

To vote for Danny Doman, SMS the keyword MRSA13 to 40439.

There is no limit to how many times an individual can vote for their favourite contestants and each SMS is charged at R2.

Mokgosi thanked the community for playing a critical role in ensuring that the stationery initiative becomes a success.

She told The BEAT that her foundation was already working on the next initiative, which will be the formation of study groups to help the learners prepare thoroughly for their exams.
