District Municipality hosts IGR summit

The Waterberg District Executive Mayor Morris Mataboge hosted the intergovernmental relations summit at the Jaagbaan Lodge in Mokopane on Thursday 15 August.

In attendance were stakeholders such as representatives of government departments, local and the district municipalities, and the private sector.

District municipal spokesperson, Pat Malete, said the region had through the years experienced challenges regarding the functionality of intergovernmental relations.

He said these impacted directly on sustainable service delivery within the district and its local municipalities.

At the centre of the summit was the objective enhance stakeholder participation.

Malete said the other objectives of the summit are, among others, improving coordination and management of municipal relations with other three spheres of government.
