A suspect was caught by a Bela-Bela police patrol in possession of allegedly stolen copper tubing.
A suspect was caught by a Bela-Bela police patrol in possession of allegedly stolen copper tubing.
The man was arrested at a hiking spot in downtown Bela-Bela, apparently trying to transport his alleged loot southwards.
He was arrested on Sunday 7 July at a complex known as Bela-Bela Business Square.
Bela-Bela police spokesperson, Sergeant Frans Maponya, said investigators were looking for the 35-yeqar-old suspect in relation to a separate case of alleged theft.
Vellie Mmamadi (35) appeared before the Bela-Bela Magistrate’s Court on Monday 8 July, and was expected to make another court appearance on Thursday 12 September.
