Foundation making strides

Modimolle’s non-profit organisation, Heaven’s Princess Foundation, is slowly but surely making progress in planting a good seed in the community, especially when coming to women empowerment.

The recent event where the organisation brought women together under one roof, was the Modern Day Ruth, held at ATKV Klein Kariba Resorts from Friday 21 June to Sunday 23 June.

The founder of Heaven’s Princess Foundation, Boinette Selokela, described the event as powerful and reviving.

“The songs that were sung to the Lord made everyone to break into intense worship. The event taught me personally that living a life of purpose is fulfilling,” she said.

The guest speaker of the day, Desiree Mohafa, addressed the young women who attended the event, elaborating on the Biblical narrative of a young woman named Ruth.

“It is important to obey instructions from God and those sent in our lives to guide us,” she said.

Selokela said apart from challenges such as funding and other logistics, they were happy and already planning the next event which will be in line with Women’s Month in August.

“Since we are a non-profit organisation, we had to rely on donations to make the event possible. Most of the businesses were turning us down. Colleagues and our prayer partners were donating,” she told The BEAT.

She said they were now working on raising funds for the organisation, to ensure that things run smoothly in the future when they do community work.

“We are now planning a woman empowerment prayer event in August, to be held on a yet to be announced venue and date,” she concluded.
