June 16 celebration an inspiration for others

The June 16 commemoration event in Bela-Bela was hosted at the Multi-Purpose Centre in the township on Sunday.

The Character Preforming Arts movement hosted the event in partnership with the private sector.

Young people had fun showcasing their talents through dance and song, and also perfomrasnce poetry.

Character Performing Arts head, Hendrik Morudu, said the event was in its fifth year.

“We had a lot of young people giving performance from dance groups, hip-hop, traditional dance and a beauty pageant,” he explained.

He said many of the participants said they have found the gathering inspiring.
