Former State Security Minister and Limpopo home-girl, Dipuo Bertha Letsatsi-Duba, is headed for the home province after failing to make the cut in President Cyril Ramaphosa’s scaled down Cabinet.

The veteran politician has joined a growing list of former Cabinet Ministers and other ordinary Members of Parliament, who chose to resign for various reasons.

According to the official government website, Letsatsi-Duba was appointed Minister of State Security by former President Jacob Zuma in February 2018, until 25 May 2019.

Before then she was Deputy Minister of Public Service and Administration since 31 March 2017 until 26 February 2018.

In 1982 Letsatsi-Duba went into exile to take up arms in the ranks of the ANC military wing, Umkhonto we Sizwe (MK), but also completed her post-primary education at Luanshya Girls High School
in Zambia, and went further to complete a diploma in political science in Cuba in 1987.

On her return to South Africa she worked as a media liaison officer at the ANC headquarters Luthuli House (then known as Shell House).

In the year 2007 she was elected to serve in the ANC Limpopo provincial executive committee.
