The Modimolle social circuit is eagerly awaiting the Miss Phagameng 2019 beauty pageant, after more than a decade of absence.

The Modimolle social circuit is eagerly awaiting the Miss Phagameng 2019 beauty pageant, after more than a decade of absence.

The beauty pageant was last held in 1997, a title which was won by the local Kedibone Mdluli.

Residents are expected to fill the Phagameng-based Peter Nchabeleng Community Hall for the much anticipated event, on Saturday 13 April.

Organiser Karabo Mokgosi said the purpose of the event was to groom teenagers to become better citizens, and to educate them about teenage pregnancy and HIV.

Mokgosi said the beauty pageant will be hosted on an annual basis.

The former Miss Phagameng was expected to form part of the event, and to also officially hand over the crown to the new queen.

The pageant organisers promised lots of fun and entertainment during the event, with TRV Live Band lead singer, John Mabusha, expected to direct the programme of the day.
