Scores of politicians groomed in the Waterberg have been offered an opportunity to take up seats in the National Assembly.

This week The BEAT succeeded in pinning down lists from both the ANC and the EFF.

Last week the newspaper unveiled some of the local candidates for the DA.

High up on the ANC list of locals eyeing a place in parliament is Communications Deputy Minister, Pinky Kekana, a former executive mayor of the Waterberg.

Modimolle-born Buti Manamela, the incumbent Presidency Deputy Minister, remains on the ANC’s list for the National Assembly.

Reginah Mhaule, the International Relations and Co-operation Deputy Minister, who hails from Bela-Bela, also has pride of place on the ANC candidates’ list for the National Assembly, as is
Mogalakwena’s Ngoako Ramatlhodi.

Nearer home, there is also former Lephalale ward councillor, Martha Moatshe, who is also headed for parliament.

Mogalakwena’s Phophi Ramathuba and Tolly Mashamaite made it to the provincial list of the ANC.

Limpopo MEC for Sports, Arts and Culture Thandi Moraka, from Lephalale, former Mookgophong mayor, Sarah Monyamane, and Vaalwater ANC member Emily Botlholo, are also on the provincial list of the ruling party.

Meanwhile Bela-Bela’s Cilesta Motsepe has been retained for the EFF candidates’ list for parliament.

On the party’s provincial list is the Modimolle-based Shela Majoko, together with Reginah Mphahlele from Mogalakwena.

Modimolle’s Mapula Ledwaba and Mike Mbedzi are also on the EFF’s provincial list, as is Bela-Bela’s Masechaba Baloyi.
