The fledgling political party, International Revelation Congress (IRC), recently unveiled Modimolle’s Emily Masadi Teffu as its women’s league national president.

IRC has been on the campaign trail across the province and elsewhere in the country ahead of the 2019 General Elections.

The 30-year-old IRC leader was born in Ga-Mashashane outside Polokwane, and moved to Modimolle after graduating from the Limpopo Nursing College.

Teffu doubles up as a nursing sister and traditional health practitioner.

She was once a branch executive committee member of the ANC, but later quit politics.

“I was recruited back to politics by the IRC in Modimolle. I was reluctant at first, but then eventually realized that this party could bring the changes that all we need,” she said.

Teffu said the party noticed its support base is mostly comprised of the youth, which may mean that many young people are looking for change and hope.

“We may not be in power today, but we will attempt to play a positive role wherever possible, to make a difference in the lives of our people,” Teffu said.

She said among other challenges they are willing to tackle, is the high rate of unemployment.
