Several hundred outsiders vroomed their way into town, for the VW Dub Festival, to showcase customised vehicles ranging from the latest convertible to the grand old lady of car-making, the
vintage Volkswagen Beetle.

VW Dub Festival events manager, Randolph Vanzeeberg, said “meticulous sifting through the country’s landscape” was conducted to provide a venue that is fitting for each chapter of the motor-
show.

“The event has currently reached a point where entire towns and multiple resorts need to be booked and coordinated for the annual pilgrimage,” he explained.

For the past 11 years Bela-Bela has been the town of choice, with the motor-show contributing to the financial wellbeing of business activity ranging from game lodges to the car-park
attendant.

In the township the club circuit also benefitted big-time, with the tourists descending into the township, to showcase their customised vehicles and spend money on entertainment.

“The first weekend of February has become the annual tradition to pay respect to our unique Volkswagen creations,” he said.

The event was held from Friday 1 February to Sunday 3 February.

Upwards of 400 vehicles were on display at the event.
