Eva Molebatsi passes on

It is on a sad note that The BEAT reports on the passing of well-known educator and seamstress Eva Molebatsi.

She passed away at the age of 76.

Molebatsi first worked as an educator at Mahlasedi Primary School in Vaalwater in 1975.

In 1982 she proceeded to Bela-Bela High School, and later moved to Hlakanang Art School.

She retired in the year 2001, but continued to pursue her love for dressmaking.

Daughter Louisa Molebatsi described her mother as a loving person, who was rooted in the community, playing a leading role during the town’s annual indigenous games.

She is survived by three children and seven grandchildren.

She will be laid to rest on Saturday 26 January at Bela-Bela graveyard.
