Fundraising for drug abuse victims

Self-confessed and rehabilitated nyaope concoction addict, Jan Kutu, has been lined up as a speaker at a function to raise funds for drug abuse in Bela-Bela.

Organiser Piet Moabi of the Lettie Skills Development NGO said a fund-raising fashion show was scheduled for the local Multi-Purpose Centre on Friday 30 November.

Kutu has been identified as the perfect example of one who has survived the additive nyaope drug.

The event was scheduled to start at 10:00.

Moabi said proceeds from the fashion show were to be diverted to supporting initiatives to assist youngsters to kick the drug abuse habit.

Others actively supportive of the fund-raising drive include New Vibration Beauty Salon, Goggies Barbershp and Lettie’s Dressmaking.

Several performing artists, among them the popular Matrata and DJ Indiano from Pretoria, were billed to provide entertainment.
