Speaking against the backdrop of concerns by Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi with regards to shortages, Waterberg health department spokesperson Morobi Malatjie said as far as the facilities
in the district were concerned, it was all systems go.

The mainstream media has reported widely about medicines shortages concerns in Limpopo.

“The availability of medicines in our district varies from facility to facility. On average, we have between 75% to 80% availability. In some facilities we have well over 80% availability,” he said.

Motsoaledi and Premier Stan Mathabatha recently presided over a high-level summit to look into the medicines distribution network in the province.

Limpopo Provincial Government spokesperson, Phuti Seloba, said the purpose of the meeting was to understand the nature of the problem with regards to the shortages of medicines.
