The Bela-Bela Police’ Crime Prevention Unit made the local community proud when they brought home two awards following a ceremony held in Polokwane.

The Bela-Bela Police’ Crime Prevention Unit made the local community proud when they brought home two awards following a ceremony held in Polokwane.

Limpopo Police Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant-General Nneke Ledwaba, hosted the service excellence award ceremony at Bolivia Lodge on Friday 5 October.

The Visible Policing team, ably led by Warrant Officer Sello Mangana, won the Best VISPOL Team Of The Year Award.

WO Mangana was named VISPOL Employer Of The Year.

Hailing all the way from Rooiberg, WO MA Maluleke took home the Best Detective Commander Award.

The annual awards event was aimed at encouraging excellence in the line of duty.

The other categories included Administration, Detectives, Crime Intelligence, and Special Awards.

Provincial Head for Corporate Communication and Liaison, Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo, said that along with the trophies and certificates, winners in all categories received cash amounts.

The Bela-Bela Cluster was well represented as two stations, Rooiberg and the main one, Bela-Bela did not return home empty-handed.
