Ntlo ya Kgwerano (House of Friendship) Church in Mookgophong celebrated Heritage Day in style, when they hosted a mass prayer event at the local shopping complex on Monday 24 September.

The event was characterised by performances from local gospel artists who also joined hands with the church to spread the message of goodwill.

The theme of the event was “Only prayer can change the situation”.

Preachers from various churches and local political leaders formed part of the community members who attended the event.

To motivate and inspire the young people of Mookgophong to do good, 2018 Limpopo Music Awards (LIMA) Best Jazz Hit winner Baldwin, Mogau Matloga (Mr and Miss Mookgophong 2nd prince) and Pontsho Mosese (Mr and Miss Mookgophong 1st princess), were invited as part of guests for the day.

Ntlo ya Kgwerano’s Pastor Rasemate William Sebothoma said they were praying for among other challenges, drug abuse in Mookgophong, domestic violence, peace and rain.

Sebothoma said the church had a vision for a society where the youth are empowered educationally, and also to end poverty by helping needy families in Mookgophong.

He said the church, which was established in June this year, started its mission to change the lives of those in need, during Mandela Month in July.
