Popular Mookgophong evangelist, Sello Nkoana, was expected to appear before the local magistrate’s court on Tuesday 27 November in connection with the illegal possession of the addictive nyaope concoction.

Popular Mookgophong evangelist, Sello Nkoana, was expected to appear before the local magistrate’s court on Tuesday 27 November in connection with the illegal possession of the addictive nyaope concoction.

SAPS spokesperson, Warrant Officer George Ledwaba, said the man was arrested at his home on Thursday 23 August, after he was allegedly found in possession of 120 wrapped balls of nyaope, plus over R2700 in cash.

He said Nkoana was nabbed following a tip-off from members of the community.

The suspect was arrested by patrolling Public Order Policing members.

The suspect was released on bail of R1 000 after appearing in the Mookgophong Magistrate’s Court on Friday 24 August.

Ledwaba said Nkoana was an employee of the Modimolle-Mookgophong Local Municipality, and also active within the ranks of the local football association.

He is an outgoing school governing body member of the local Dikubu Primary School.
