Masemola promises end to Bela-Bela factionalism

The Limpopo leadership of the ANC has committed itself to bring to an end ongoing factionalism in the Bela-Bela sub-region.

The Limpopo leadership of the ANC has committed itself to bring to an end ongoing factionalism in the Bela-Bela sub-region.

Speaking during a fact-finding mission at the Bela-Bela Community Hall on Wednesday 22 August, provincial executive committee member Namane Masemola said the provincial structure had received countless complaints from branches in Bela-Bela complaining about, among others, being marginalised due to factions.

He called on the masses in attendance to continue to support the ANC in the meantime, while the provincial leadership trashed out issues around the culture of internal divisions.

Many members of the audience also complained about internal political infighting which they said affected service delivery.

Some even dared that politicians tended to make promises ahead of elections — in this instance the forthcoming 2019 general elections — and failed to keep those promises thereafter.

“Bela-Bela has played a remarkable role in politics and produced leaders such as Edna Molewa and Pinky Kekana among others,” he said.

Kekana is the national Communications Deputy Minister while Molewa is the incumbent Environmental Affairs Minister.

Masemola promised to report back to the community at the conclusion of the processes to bring warring factions together.
