Pastor Motlhake brings Thuma Mina home

Lesedi Sediba Apostolic Faith Mission Church leader, Pastor Samuel Motlhake, has brought President Cyril Ramaphosa’s Thuma Mina (Send Me) initiative concept nearer home.

Lesedi Sediba Apostolic Faith Mission Church leader, Pastor Samuel Motlhake, has brought President Cyril Ramaphosa’s Thuma Mina (Send Me) initiative concept nearer home.

Returning from an event in Johannesburg hosted by the National Interfaith Council of South Africa (NICSA), he said he would rally local religious leaders to have a major contribution to the Thuma Mina campaign.

Ramaphosa spoke poignantly about the legendary song by the late Hugh Masekela with the same name, on the occasion of his maiden State of the Nation address at the end of last year.

Motlhakle was keen to share his experiences from the NICSA event with local ecumenical leaders, with the main objective being to drive home the Thuma Mina message.

He committed to engage church leaders from across the Waterberg to constitute themselves into religious forums.

Academic and researcher Dr Matjhole Motshekga was the keynote speaker at the event in Johannesburg.

NICSA was founded out of the merger between the National Religious Leaders Forum (NRLF) and the National Interfaith Leaders Council (NILC), and came into being in the year 2011.
