The Modimolle-based Black Lives Matter Foundation (BLMF) distributed a total of 102 school shoes in Modimolle on Monday 30 July.

The distribution of the shoes was conducted at different venues in Extension 10 and Extension 13.

The shoes were donated to the foundation during a Mandela Day event facilitated by Shamima Vawda, who is based in the Johannesburg suburb of Bruma.

The event, with the theme Madiba Tea Party, is held annually, with the objective by charity volunteer Shamima Vawda, to assist community-based organizations such as BLMF.

BLMF was one of the organisations which were identified as beneficiaries for this year.

BLMF chairperson, Zunaid Mosam, said the Association of Black Securities and Investment Professionals (ABSIP) donated 102 pairs of girls and boys school shoes to his organization.

“Black Lives Matter Foundation wishes to thank Shamima Vawda for organising the Madiba Tea Party, and extend our gratitude to ABSIP and all other sponsors for their generosity,” he said.

Mosam said the school shoes were distributed to Modimolle’s Hector Petersen Primary School, Lekkerbreek Primary School, Dagbreek Primary School, Modimolle Primary School and Maokeng Primary School.
