Three different fires in a matter of days
A shack in Koppewaai was destroyed by a fire.
Officials from the Bela-Bela Local Council visited the scene to assess the damage on Monday 4 June.
Among these was the speaker, Zakes Moeletsi, officials from the communications division and risk management.
Unconfirmed reports suggest the police might be asked to investigate alleged arson.
Shack owner, Salome Mahladisha, chose not to comment.
Risk management head, Thipe Dlamini, promised Mahladisha that the municipality would provide building material in a matter of a couple of days.
He also promised to engage the Home Affairs Department, to assist in replacing her ID book which was burnt in the fire.
Dlamini further said he would engage the South African Social Security Agency to provide food parcels for the family.
Police are investigating.
Another fire destroyed part of the Kingfisher Nest Guest House on the Thabazimbi road.
