Suspected drug dealers nabbed in Mokopane

The police prevented the delivery of a consignment of drugs in Mokopane after they apprehended two suspected drug dealers in separate incidents this week.

On Wednesday 3 July, the police pulled over a 34-year-old man driving a white Volkswagen Polo in Dudu Madisha Street. According to the police he was allegedly on his way to deliver drugs at a location identified by the police.

On searching his vehicle, the police found transparent plastic bags filled with “cat”, crystal meth, and heroin with an estimated street value of R25 000. The man has already appeared in the

Mokopane Magistrate’s Court and was remanded in custody until Thursday 11 July for a formal bail application.

The following day a similar incident took place when the police arrested a 42-year-old suspect, also driving a white Volkswagen Polo, for possession and dealing in drugs in Minkies Street. The

police found plastic bags with suspected crystal meth in his car. The estimated street value of the drugs is R40 000. He is due to appear in the same court during the week.

Both men were foreign nationals, according to the police.
