Bail denied for first accused of the Phala Phala break in

Imanuawel David appeared in the Bela-Bela Magistrate’s court on Friday, 8 December, for judgment to be made on his bail application for the charges against him of the Phala Phala break-in.

Imanuawel, facing three charges of break-in and theft, and one charge of money laundering, was denied bail.

Presiding officer, Predeshni Ponnan said the bail application was denied in the interest of justice.

The Joseph siblings, Froliana and David received bail on Friday 10th of November, but will be in court as the case continues.

The matter will be postponed for further investigation on Friday 24 February 2024. Imanuawel will remain in custody.
