Achieve your academic ideals at Educational Expo

Every parent, learner and educator dreams of achieving more than what they are exposed to and what they can provide, so that they and others achieve their dreams.

This is why the Mokopane Destiny Academy (MDA), an independent school with a Christian ethos in Mokopane Limpopo, will be hosting the third annual Bushveld Education Expo on Saturday 22 April in Mokopane.

The academy aims to inspire a quest for lifelong learning and the desire to give children and teachers access to opportunities they would not ordinarily have access to and it will continue to do so.

“We are equipping our children for a future we can’t quite envision yet. We must teach them problem-solving skills and critical thinking patterns and help them to develop analytical- and solutions-driven mindsets,” says Thomas Marshall, founder, and director of the MDA.

The MDA will be hosting an exciting expo in Mokopane with the aim to inspire a quest for life-long learning and the desire to give children and educators access to opportunities they would not ordinarily have access to. The event will be hosted at the RET Centre in Fourie Street.

“Why is this important? Because they need these qualities to be successful citizens who contribute positively to their environment, no matter what it looks like. I’ve always believed that when we come together as a community, we will be able to see our children truly soar.”

It is no secret that most Limpopo schools lack the fundamentals and have limited access to better learning opportunities that expos can provide.

It is the MDA’s desire to create that platform so that children can leapfrog to their next level of learning.

At the Bushveld Expo, children, parents, and teachers can find out what extra-curricular activities are available in and around town, attend top-class training sessions, and buy books and educational resources.

People are encouraged to engage others and gain access to new and innovative ideas to promote learning — even if it’s over a simple cup of coffee or tea.

The expo will be welcoming top speakers such as renowned founder and author of groundbreaking programs and books on pre-conceptual care, birth, child development, and quality of life — irrespective of age. Melody de Jager, will be presenting a topic on The Brilliant Brain.

Other speakers include Minda Marshall, director of a South African company making strides internationally, who will share insights on future-proofing your child. This will be followed by two educators at the MDA who will present insights on the brand-new Learn-to-read curriculum. A curriculum the MDA has been implementing since the start of the academic year for grades R up to grade 2.

Local education service providers will have stalls available where parents can learn more about classes and courses locally available, for instance: playball, gymnastics, sports clubs, reading support and development (Read, Learn, Live), art classes, chess, and more.

Visitors will have their pick of educational toys, books, delicious food, and snacks at the expo.

“Despite all the challenges they might have to face, they will be able to choose to, like Maya Angelou said, not be reduced by whatever happens to them. Rather, they will be able to rise and become the answers to many of the challenges we will face in the future. So, join us as we gather at the RET Centre to create an opportunity to improve our children’s future,” said Marshall.

  • The MDA was established to provide quality education and inspire a quest for life-long learning. Following an internationally recognized curriculum (IB – International Baccalaureate), from Grade RR to Grade 12 learners in the Mogalakwena area.

Education is a growing process, and as students and educators advance in their learning experience, the MDA aims to increase engagement with the curriculum and equip each learner for improved learning outcomes.

The expo will be hosted at the RET Centre, 150 Fourie Street, Mokopane, on Saturday, 22 April, between 08:00 – 15:00.
