Harcourts blood flows in property siblings

The West Coast has become the home and life source of many a success story, few are more prominent than the brother and sister team of Pieter and Maritha Wagner of Harcourts Langebaan.

I sat down with Maritha and Pieter to dwell a bit more into the reason for choosing a property on the West Coast and more. Harcourts was founded in New Zealand in 1888 and has grown to the second largest property export company coming from that country.

Pieter stated that Harcourts as a franchise was always their number one choice. The systems and the invaluable support and marketing that come with the company are world-class and are always progressing with the times.

Harcourts Langebaan shares the same ethical values as the holding company. Fairness is key. They want both parties to benefit from a successful property transaction. The establishment of good relations and an impeccable track record in the property market are extremely important to be successful in this country.

Maritha’s face lit up when she spoke about her childhood and learned about the property game from her father, who is a well-known property developer in Limpopo. The property market is hard work, but you need to be adaptable and eager always to be vigilant for new opportunities.

Brother and sister duo, Maritha and Pieter Wagner of Harcourts Langebaan.

They are both excited about the prospects on the West Coast, for example, Langebaan is no longer just for holiday home investment. The commercial side of property development has really taken off. They also project that the West Coast will become more and more popular in the retirement village market.

The key to understanding the West Coast is its people. Social development and community involvement are essential for the success of any business, but even more so in the property market.

They regularly reach out and help non-profit organizations and actively support arts and culture within the towns.

Pieter said with pride that he would happily one day have a Harcourts office in every town in the West Coast; not only the coastal region but the inland towns as well such as Mooreesburg, Malmesbury, and Piketberg.

The one thing I can state very clearly is that Pieter and Maritha are truly in love with the West Coast and its people; thus promoting its beauty and marketing the wide variety of properties it has to offer comes naturally to them.
