Waterberg businesses to benefit from development programme

Micro-to-medium businesses from across the Waterberg were on Tuesday 20 November expected to converge on the OR Tambo Hall in Modimolle for a workshop.

Richard Makhubele of the Waterberg District’s Small Enterprise Development Agency (Seda), said the business entities from three townships stood to benefit from the Informal and Micro
Enterprise Development Programme (IMEDP) initiative.

The main beneficiaries were expected to be drawn from the townships in Bela-Bela, Modimolle and Mookgophong.

Makhubele said the businesses would benefit in the form of resources such as equipment to enhance their respective business activities, but were also to be provided with information to
position them better in the marketplace.

He said the event was being hosted in partnership with the Department of Small Business Development (DSBD).

Makhubele added that the Informal and Micro Enterprise Development Programme is an initiative of the latter department, from which the informal business sector benefited in terms of various
levels of support, among these to ensure work tools were provided.

SEDA Waterberg branch manager, Steve Botha, was expected to preside over the event.
