Glory for Multi B

Mookgophong comedian Multi B (real name Hendrick Moreroa) has been nominated for the SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards.

The home-grown performer is on the shortlist for the category of Gospel Comedy.

The 11th annual SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards were scheduled to be held at the Durban International Convention Centre on Sunday 25 November.

In recent weeks Multi B won the Ingoma Awards under the category of Best Gospel Comedian.

The nominations event for the latest awards was held last Friday 19 October at the same venue, where the names of those who made the cut were announced.

Speaking to The BEAT on Monday 22 October, Multi B said he was still trying to come to terms with a nomination of that magnitude, in the recent SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards, that is.

“When my name was announced at the nominations party, I was scared and excited at the same time. I was emotionally-overwhelmed,” he said.

Unlike other categories of these prestigious awards, the Gospel Comedy section would be decided by the judges.

The rest of the categories were to be determined by a vote from the general public.

Since the announcement of the nominees, the Mookgophong comedian has created and popularised his now celebrated brands, #MultiB4Crowns and #Winning4HisGlory on social media.

These popular hashtags continued to attract widespread support with individuals sending in messages of congratulations to this downright home-grown talent.

“I appreciate the continued support from everybody out there. Multi B would not be here if it was not for your support,” he said.
