The newly-elected president of the South African National Handball Federation Ally Pole has said the federation would work at ensuring that handball qualified for the All-Africa Games in 2023 and the 2024 Olympics.

The Modimolle-born athlete, labour unionist and educator spoke to The BEAT durig a recent interview, following the elections of the Sascoc leadership in Johannesburg on Saturday 22 September.

He said it was his vision to lend his hand in the founding of a handball national league in the country within a matter of three years.

“I am thankful for the support we received from Sascoc. A new corporate culture needs to be put into place. We need to establish our Audit and Risk Committee in order to keep our management accounts on check on a regular basis,” he said.

He said there was renewed hope for handball representing the country at the Olympics.

Pole is, by virtue of his position at the handball federation, the representative for Limpopo at SASCOC.
