A total of 15 youngsters from across the Waterberg have found themselves a place at the coveted Bela-Bela Soccer Academy.

The players arrived for trials, held on Saturday 15 September, hailing from as far afield as Tzaneen (one player), Mabatlane (three) and Modimolle (2).

A total of nine of the selected players came from Bela-Bela, for the trials held at the local Moloto Stadium.

Bela-Bela Soccer Academy head coach, Sam Modise, said five of the players were defenders, seven of them midfielders, and three strikers.

He said further trials were scheduled for the schoolholidays in September.

Modise said all the new players were expected to register as learners at Bela-Bela High School, for the 2019 school calendar year.

Players born between 2004 and 2005 were welcome to try their luck at the trials.
