Limpopo-born gospel artist Tau di a Rora (real name Caiphus Ntiyiso Khosa) has launched his seventh album, to celebrate a decade in the music industry.

Limpopo-born gospel artist Tau di a Rora (real name Caiphus Ntiyiso Khosa) has launched his seventh album, to celebrate a decade in the music industry.

The 10-track album is titled Ri Humile Dyambu (the sun has risen).

The title track, he said, was aimed at encouraging people to wake up and chase their dreams.

Khosa was born in Malamulele at Matodzi Village.

Tau Di a Rora currently records his music in Mookgophong, and also stages his performances in the busiest town every weekend.

“I would like to encourage aspiring artists, especially those who are still struggling to find their voice in the industry, to never underestimate their abilities. Nobody can steal your
talent, but you need to work hard in order to achieve your goals,” he said.

He advised young people to focus on their studies, while pursuing their talent.

Tau di a Rora often receives invitations even beyond the borders of South Africa to perform his music.

His album consists of tracks composed in, among other languages, Sepedi, Xitsonga, Shona (Zimbabwean), Tshivenda and IsiZulu.

“I have been to many neighbouring countries including Lesotho, Botswana and Mozambique,” he told The BEAT.

He said he is honoured to have been one of the artists who recorded a tribute album Tsa Bofelo, paying homage to the late Oleseng Shuping.

This artist, who also founded his own company Di a Rora tsa Moya Productions, was billed to perform at a heritage festival in Emalahleni, Mpumalaga on 24 September.
