Rewarding excellence

The New Age Organization (NAO) in Modimolle has unveiled an annual incentives programme, which would encourage learners in Grade 12 to work harder and obtain better results.

The New Age Organization (NAO) in Modimolle has unveiled an annual incentives programme, which would encourage learners in Grade 12 to work harder and obtain better results.

The initiative was recently launched at Solomon Mahlangu High School, where the organization asked the school to identity a list of five best-performing learners.

These learners will be pampered with a full package comprising of specially-designed outfits for their matric dance, plus a DVD and photos of the event.

This year the initiative will benefit Grade 12 learners Hendrik Thantsha, Juluka Bokaba, Tebogo Selamolela, Abel Majadibodu and Delight Langa.

Local designers Thabo Matjila, Happy Motshegoa and Portia Senosi will be designing the clothes.

Edward “Bra Sox” Masingi of Malaika Media committed to compile a package of photos and a DVD for these learners.

Masingi, who is the founder of the NAO movement, said the initiative was named “Dress a matriculant” campaign.

“This initiative is a first and we hope to grow and reach more learners and more designers in 2019 and beyond. It is an annual thing which serves to inspire hard work and success,” he said.

He also called on all leaders and businesses to join this initiative, as the future of every community begins in the classroom.

“At NAO we say ‘Education is the mother of leadership’,” he added.
