Hair-stylist extraordinaire Tshepiso Gwala is back home to the Waterberg with the objective to empower young men and women who are in the business of hair.

Hair-stylist extraordinaire Tshepiso Gwala is back home to the Waterberg with the objective to empower young men and women who are in the business of hair.

Born and bred in Bela-Bela, Gwala had since left for greener pastures in Gauteng and now relocated to the Limpopo capital of Polokwane.

In Bela-Bela on Tuesday 21 August, Gwala hosted a multi-disciplined workshop, whereby participants were empowered in terms of not only the business of hair, but also basic skills with regards
to the small business sector.

A total of 45 hair-stylists benefited from the workshop held at Bela-Bela’s Elephant Spring.

The group was taken through a process of hair product knowledge, basic business skills, health and safety.

Exotic hairstyles befiting of a model’s catwalk was also on display.

Gwala said the programme would be taken to various other parts of the Waterberg and the broader Limpopo, going forward.

Hair industry workshop sponsors pampered participants with free hair products.

Participants were further encouraged to enter the lucrative Golden Scissors Awards, with prizemoney of R200 000.
