Political heavyweights from national and provincial government graced the 4th Brics Summit held at Zebula Golf Estate from Monday 16 July to Friday 20 July.

Minister in the Presidency, Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, presided over the proceedings, with Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba delivering the Nelson Mandela Lecture.

The Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation hosted the event in partnership with the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA).

Activities at the event commenced with the youth summit, held from the Monday to Wednesday, with the youth ministers’ meeting taking place on the Thursday and Friday.

The high-profile list of delegates included Cabinet Minister Lindiwe Sisulu, who spoke on behalf of the Small Business Development initiative.

Conspicuous in her presence was also Limpopo Health MEC, Dr Phophi Ramathuba.

The Youth Summit was a precursor to the 10th Brics Summit which was scheduled for the Sandton International Convention Centre from Wednesday 25 July to Friday 27 July.
