After beating Modimolle Di Maria 1-0, Modimolle La Masia FC were now set to meet teams from the higher echelons of local soccer, following elimination matches played at the local Ephraim
Mogale Stadium on Sunday 22 July.

Both the Modimolle Masters FC and Happy Boys FC have qualified for a spot in the next round of the Modimolle-Mookgophong Mayor’s Cup, meaning the competition for Modimolle La Masia becomes tougher.

In Vaalwater last Saturday 21 July, Makweti FC beat Legend 45 FC with a scoreline of 2-0, with Motherwell FC eliminating Boschdraai FC 1-0.

Makweti FC continued their journey with a fixture against Welgevonden FC, with the score at 2-all at the end of regulation time.

Makweti FC went on to beat Welgevonden FC 4-3 on the dreaded penalties.

The last match of the day between Makweti FC and Seven Stars FC had to be abandoned due to poor lighting.

Modimolle-Mookgophong Mayor’s Cup coordinator, Jones Matlou, said the date for the rematch would be announced after a meeting of all stakeholders.
